These Brave Turtles (and our whales) are made of tshwe-tshwe fabric and inside they have a heart made from … you’ll never guess…  recycled wetsuits that were worn by our rescue crew when saving lives.

tshwe-tshwe is printed fabric widely used in traditional South African dress – it is known as the tartan of South Africa. Themba Training offers entrepreneurial training paired with practical skills, such as sewing classes, to equip people with the necessary skills needed to become small business owners and enter the formal or informal job market.

Our Brave Turtles were made with love by Themba entrepreneurs. We love our planet and we always look for creative ways to recycle the clothing and products we can no longer use.
